Part of my practice as an artist is writing and making books. Some books are handmade, folded and sewn, using pockets within the books to collect seeds and hide words. Some books are screenprinted combining words and images and others are printed as small edition books with poems and artwork.

An Illustrated Book About Birds

a limited edition book that featured in Northwords Now.

Waterway

A limited edition book that was one of the outcomes of my exhibition Waterway at the John Muir birthplace in Dunbar. The exhibition and book are a reflection on place and time as it follows the course of the Papana water that starts high in the Lammermuir hills and comes out as Biel Water at Belhaven Bay.

In the Mouth of the Night

Limited edition book of etchings and passages from traditional stories from the Western Isles. The etchings were part of a solo exhibition of the same name at An Lanntair art gallery in Stornoway.

Empire Close Apothecary Garden

A project with Dunbar Primary School students looking at the medicinal plants at Empire close. We looked at edible plants, plants for traditional remedies and plants for colour and ink. The art work that the children made went into a book that was made available to the community.
